Our Team
Sam Holcomb
Founder and President
Former Army Special Forces Green Beret, avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoor enthusiast, and proud father of two, Sam brings a love of design and building to every project.
Sean Kirkpatrick
Project Manager
A Colorado native, Sean is an avid fisherman and proud father of two who still finds time to remodel his family’s home. A creative, detail-oriented carpenter, Sean does a phenomenal job managing projects and building beautiful homes.
Frank King
Project Manager
Frank is a man of many skills. He grew up on an apple farm in Traverse City, has filmed ski films from Alaska to Utah, is an avid photographer, and spends hours each week creating beautiful woodworking projects in his wood shop—an all-around impressive guy!
Brian Ward
Project Manager
A master carpenter with 35 years in the trades, Brian brings expertise and a love of building to every project. He is a woodworker and boat builder, but he is happiest hanging out with his son and passing on his creativity and love for building.
Nevin Brownell
Estimator/Sales
Marquette institution. Ceramicist. Cyclemaniac. 3x Sportsman of the Year. 5x Snowball Fight Champion of the World… Also, natural-born craftsman. His work, like his style, is always impeccable.
Megan Brinkman-Kirkpatrick
Designer
When she’s not catching more and bigger fish than her husband, Megan, mother of two, loves to paddleboard, downhill ski, and jump in Lake Superior. And if all else fails, she’ll spend the afternoon organizing her pantry one more time!
Aaron Nault
Lead Carpenter
When he’s not bikepacking hundreds of miles in a weekend or shredding steep descents on the RAMBA trails, Aaron is probably working to renovate his historic Ishpeming home with accurate period details. A passionate carpenter, Aaron ensures that everything he does is impeccable.
Blaine McQuinn
Lead Carpenter
You can catch Blaine tearing up traditional bluegrass and country tunes at the Ore Dock or Blackrocks. If he’s not making music, he’s probably on a bikepacking adventure somewhere in the U.P. or spending quality time with his son. Blaine brings many years of experience to every project he’s on.
Kyle Flowers
Lead Carpenter
Kyle has traveled all across the U.S. for both work and play, but life as a carpenter in the U.P. is the most recent chapter in his adventurous life. Kyle is excited to perfect his craftmanship on your home—and maybe build a home of his own someday. (If you buy donuts for the crew, make sure to include an old-fashioned, sour cream glaze for Kyle… maybe two!)
Pat Althouse
Carpenter
Pat believes that there is no job too tough for him to handle. He is the oil that makes the CCC engine run smoothly! After work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and traipsing around the U.P. woods with his pack of domesticated foxes.
Dave Holzer
Carpenter
Dave and his family are recent transplants from Pennsylvania, but they’ve taken to life in the UP. Dave loves being outdoors—hiking, biking, fishing—but he especially loves riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes with his son.
Nick Gdowski
Carpenter
A graduate of NMU with a degree in woodworking and furniture, Nick brings that level of craftmanship to every project he works on. When he’s not working, Nick can be found rock climbing, backpacking, and camping.
Preston Brissette
Carpenter
Former Army infantryman and current college student, Preston is an avid outdoorsman with a deep passion for fishing and canoeing. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two kids.
Jack Rondeau
Carpenter
Jack is a Yooper, born and raised. And like any good Yooper, he loves hunting and fishing—namely deer hunting and exploring new streams around the UP. And if he’s not in the woods, he’s probably hanging out with friends to catch the latest UFC fight.
Zach Childs
Carpenter
Originally from Bay City, Zach migrated north due to his love of the outdoors—mountain biking, skiing… catching huge fish! Zach has a keen eye for detail and has proven himself to be an invaluable carpenter.
John Messer
Carpenter
John takes great pride in his work and wants to do his best—no matter the job. A born Yooper, John loves the outdoors. During the winter, he’ll be out on the ice looking for big fish. And when summer hits, he’s an avid disc golfer.
Carson Dyer
Carpenter
Carson is a Native Yooper, born and raised. When he’s not doing amazing work as a carpenter, he is honing his skills with woodworking projects. He keeps active by playing golf and soccer. And in the great Marquette battle of the breweries, Carson votes for Ore Dock.
